I see the world as an unending slideshow: moments shared for a short period of time, and then cast away, never to be seen again. To savor these precious moments, I capture the environment around me and flatten it onto paper. I'm interested in the stages of life because things are never quite the same. What causes a person to change? How do we impact the environment around us? What parts of me have changed since I started to draw? Every person, animal, building, etc. has a story and I intend to document that through the use of charcoal or paint. By taking something that was once ever changing with infinite viewpoints and turning it into a single moment in 2D space, I am forever capturing that moment of time. While cameras are objective, replicating the world through every detail, my work explores the world seen through my point of view, emphasizing the aspects of the infinite horizon that are most important to me.
